Boxed - Product that is still sealed in it's original packaging. Term is generally only used to describe products that actually come in box-style packaging.
Carded - Product that is still sealed in it's original packaging. Term is generally only used to describe products that actually come in card-style package that have a cutout at the top in order to hang the package on a peg.
Case - Cardboard box that is used to ship new products to stores.
Case Assortment - List that specifies the exact number of each product that is contained in a case.
Exclusive - Product that is only sold at a specific retail store or company. Sometimes an exclusive is just a re-issue of an out of production item.
Hoarding - The practice of buying up all of a specific collectible product (often to use said products as trade-bait). Please don't contribute to the problem by hoarding toys. Buy what you need for yourself and your friends. Leave the rest for another kid or collector to find.
Loose - Any item that has been removed from the original packaging.
Mold - A hollow form or matrix for shaping a plastic substance. Used to create the individual pieces of each Action Fleet toy during production.
N/A - Shorthand for "not applicable".
Pack-In - Item that would normally fit in a specific product series that is instead only available with a larger product. For instance, in the 3 3/4" figure line a pack-in is usually an action figure that is included with a vehicle instead of being carded for individual sale. In the Action Fleet line a pack-in is a vehicle that is included with a playset instead of being packaged in the single pack style for individual sale.
Prototype - The original model upon which final products are based. Prototypes are created based on conceptual designs, then used to create molds. Test shots are then created to ensure the integrity of the mold before mass production begins.
Redeco - See Repaint.
Rehash - Item that has been reproduced from an existing mold and is marketed in different packaging than the original release. Rehashes are often released with new accessories included or multiple rehashed items will be packaged together.
Repaint - Item that has been reproduced from an existing mold and is marketed as the same item as the original release of the product, but has a different paint style from the orignal item released.
Scalper - Person who buys up collectible products with the sole purpose of reselling said products to the collectors for a profit. Please don't contribute to the problem by scalping toys. Buy what you need for yourself and your friends. Leave the rest for another kid or collector to find.
Single Pack - Term used to describe the main line of Action Fleet products which were vehicles/beasts released one per box, usually with two figures.
Test Shot - A prototype created from the final mold to be used for mass production of the product. Test shots are used to determine if the mold and machinery are of the quality needed to before entering the mass production phase. The toy is typically created using whatever color of plastic is available at the time and then inserted into packaging made from scrap left over from past production of a similar product. The toy and packaging are the appropriate sizes and shapes, but are rather odd looking when compared to the final product due to the mixmatched colors of the toy and printing on the packaging.
Variation - A product that is accidentally produced a little different from others of the same type. Action Fleet vehicles have been produced with variations due to a mishap or change in manufacturing practices during production.
Version - A product that is intentionally produced a little different from others of the same type. Action Fleet vehicles have been produced with different versions in order to correct a problem with an earlier release or to create a "new" product by using a different paint style (which saves the company the cost of producing an entirely new mold).
Vintage - Term used when referring to the original series of Star Wars toys. For example, in the 3 3/4" figure line, the vitage toys were produced by Kenner from 1978-1986. It could be argued that the original Galoob Action Fleet toys produced from 1995-1997 or the Micro Collection produced by Kenner from 1982-1983 is the vintage line of Action Fleet toys.
Wave - Term used when referring to a case assortment or series of case assortments that are shipped to stores at the same time. These assortments usually contain only new products but may also contain a low number of already relased product if that product was in short supply in initial release.
